Digital asset platform Bakkt set to acquire Apex Crypto for $200M
Digital asset platform Bakkt has entered into an agreement to acquire Apex Crypto, LLC from Apex Fintech Solutions, Inc. According to the agreement, Bakkt is expected to acquire Apex Crypto for the price tag of $200 million, making its first payment of $55million at the closing of the deal. The transaction will likely be completed by the first half of 2023 and is subject to regulatory approvals. Bakkt president Adam White announces departure from digital asset platform
Adam White, the president and founding executive of digital assets company Bakkt, is leaving the firm after three years. In a Thursday post on Twitter, White said next week would mark his departure from Bakkt, where he has served as both chief operating officer and president. White joined Bakkt after leaving Coinbase in 2018, where he worked as a vice president and general manager. The share price of the Intercontinental Exchange-backed crypto services company Bakkt ($BKKT) has surged as it unveiled two partnerships with major global payments firms. Bakkt sheds more than 6% on its first day of public trading
Bakkt (BKKT), an institutional and retail-facing digital asset platform founded by Intercontinental Exchange, has suffered a drawdown of -6.4% after closing a volatile first day of trading as a publicly listed company. Crypto finserv firm Bakkt to soon trade publicly on New York Stock Exchange
Bakkt Holdings, the digital assets management arm of Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), has announced it will soon become a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange, starting Oct. 18. The public listing for Bakkt comes as a result of a merger with VPC Impact Acquisition Holdings, a Chicago-based special purpose acquisition company. Bakkt crypto exchange partners with Google for payments
Users who hold debit cards issued by cryptocurrency exchange Bakkt will be able to convert their crypto balances to make fiat payments using Google Pay. In an Friday announcement, Bakkt said it had partnered with Google to allow its users to purchase goods and services using Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies through the Google Pay wallet and payment system. Intercontinental Exchange subsidiary Bakkt has introduced a debit card allowing customers to use crypto for retail purchases. In a Tuesday announcement, Bakkt said it had launched a fully virtual Visa debit card for both online and in-store spending. Intercontinental Exchange sells Coinbase stake for $1.2 billion
Intercontinental Exchange, the operator of the New York Stock Exchange and the owner of Bakkt digital asset platform, has sold its 1.4% stake in the newly Nasdaq-listed cryptocurrency firm Coinbase. Announcing the news Thursday on a financial-results call for the first quarter of 2021, ICE chief financial officer Scott Hill said that the company sold its Coinbase stake for $1.2 billion. Bakkt launches payments app as institutions compete for crypto assets
Major financial institutions are expanding their cryptocurrency services, with Bakkt launching its digital asset payments application for the general public. Bakkt was launched by Intercontinental Exchange in 2018, with the firm offering Bitcoin futures contracts to accredited investors exclusively. New York grants Bakkt coveted BitLicense
Bakkt has become the latest crypto firm to get a BitLicense. On Thursday, the New York Department of Financial Services announced that Bakkt had become the 29th BitLicensee.
