Prosecutors seek harsh sentence for fraudster behind celeb-spruiked ICO
U.S. federal prosecutors are pushing for a heavy prison sentence to be levied against one of the founders of Centra Tech — the company behind a notorious initial coin offering in 2017 that was promoted by professional boxer Floyd Mayweather and musician DJ Khaled. Founder of Floyd Mayweather-Promoted ICO to Plead Guilty to Fraud
Robert Farkas is negotiating a plea bargain for his role in the fraudulent Centra Tech initial coin offering (ICO) that commissioned celebrity endorsements from Floyd Mayweather Jr and DJ Khaled. According to Law360, U.S. District Judge Lorna Schofield has granted Farkas’ attorneys’ request to schedule a plea hearing for next week on June 10, with details of the proposed plea yet to be disclosed.
