Iota Foundation joins Dell to develop real-time carbon footprint tracking
Iota Foundation, a nonprofit distributed ledger technology ecosystem provider, has partnered with tech giant Dell Technologies to develop a data-driven solution for the real-time tracking of carbon footprints. Dell’s edge solutions team announced the onboarding of Iota, climate change-focused technology company ClimateCHECK and BioE to develop a solution on top of Dell’s in-house Data Confidence Fabric (DCF) and Project Alvarium initiatives. Ex-Goldman Sachs banker launches crypto app after $33M raise
The former Head of Product for “Marcus by Goldman Sachs” has launched a crypto investing app, “Domain Ventures,” raising $33 million from investors on Jan 25. Adam Dell, brother of Dell computers tycoon Michael, assembled a team of 25 former staff members from Goldman Sachs. Other staffers are leaving their roles at Bridgewater Associates, Morgan Stanley, Coinbase Global Inc. and BlockFi. Dell-owned VMware launches enterprise-focused blockchain
Major cloud computing and virtual machine firm VMware has launched VMware Blockchain, an enterprise-ready blockchain platform. Owned by Dell, the billion-dollar company first teased the blockchain’s development in 2018 through its Project Concord, promising an enterprise-grade platform that can enable secure inter-organization data sharing. VMware joins the ranks of IBM and other global tech conglomerates that have launched their own blockchain platforms. Iota, Dell and Linux Developing Platform to Rate Data Trustworthiness
Distributed ledger technology provider Iota, Dell Technologies and the Linux Foundation are collaborating on Project Alvarium. In an Oct. 28 press release, the nonprofit Linux Foundation announced it was forming a new project with support from several major industry giants such as Dell, the Iota Foundation and IBM. Other partners to the project include edge resource marketplace MobiledgeX and global IT firm Unisys. IBM Triples Number of Blockchain Patents in US Since Last Year
Tech giant IBM has tripled the number of blockchain patents secured in the United States since last year, currently boasting over 100 active patent families. That makes IBM’s growth in US patents the largest of last year, according to a report by crypto-related news site BeinCrypto on July 16.
