Top Ethereum conference Devcon is delayed again
Devcon, one of the biggest conferences for the Ethereum community and developers, has been delayed again due to uncertainty around the coronavirus pandemic. According to a Tuesday announcement, the Ethereum Foundation decided to hold off on the conference in Bogota instead of going ahead with its previously announced August target. “We want to make sure we do this responsibly and that as many people as possible are able to make the trip from all around the world, which seems unlikely by early August,” the blog post reads. Devcon 6: 2020 is a Write-Off, Let’s Try 2021 in Colombia
The Ethereum Foundation says it will not hold blockchain’s largest international conference Devcon VI this year and has moved the event to Bogota, Colombia in 2021 — although a precise date is yet to be announced Colombia is one of the top countries in crypto adoption in the world. Ethereum 2.0 Validators to Earn up to 10% Annually for Staking: Report
Ethereum 2.0 validators can expect to earn from 4.6% to 10.3% as rewards for staking on an annual basis, a senior ConsenSys exec says. 32 ETH required to become a validator Collin Myers, head of global product strategy at blockchain firm ConsenSys, reportedly claimed that in order to become a validator on the Ethereum 2.0, one is required to maintain a minimum amount of 32 Ether (ETH), which is worth $5,760 at press time. Ethereum 2.0’s Phase Zero Scheduled to Launch on January 3, 2020: Devs
The first stage of the Ethereum network’s transition to Ethereum 2.0 is expected to take place on January 3, 2020, as said in a bi-weekly call of Ethereum core developers on June 13. During the call, Ethereum researcher Justin Drake said that the dev team is working on code specifications for phase zero, confirming that codes are still expected to be released on June 30. Popular Ethereum DApp Browser MetaMask to Launch Mobile App Version
The mobile app version of the currently most-downloaded Ethereum Chrome browser extension MetaMask was revealed during Ethereum’s annual Devcon conference Oct. 31, according a tweet from the CEO of ConsenSys Joseph Lubin.
