Increasing interest in the Metaverse has been seen as a reason for Decentraland native token MANA and memecoin Shiba Inu's (SHIB's) outpaced growth on retail trading platform eToro over the past 12 months. eToro to terminate $10B SPAC merger in mutual agreement with acquisition firm
On Tuesday, special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) FinTech Acquisition Corp. V announced that it terminated its purposed takeover of Israeli cryptocurrency exchange eToro via a bilateral agreement. UK advertising watchdog bans crypto ads for Coinbase and Kraken
The Advertising Standards Authority, or ASA, the United Kingdom’s independent advertising regulator, has taken down another batch of cryptocurrency-related ad campaigns promoting several major industry firms. On Dec. 15, the advertising watchdog issued several rulings on ad violations involving six crypto-related firms including Coinbase, Kraken, eToro, Exmo, crypto broker Coinburp and Luno crypto exchange. The ASA also issued a similar ruling for pizza chain Papa John’s. All seven ads or promotions were banned for “irresponsibly taking advantage of consumers inexperience and for failing to illustrate the risk of the investment,” the rulings said. eToro to delist Cardano by 2022 for US users due to regulatory concerns
In a statement released to customers on Tuesday, Israeli cryptocurrency exchange eToro announced it would delist Cardano (ADA) and Tro (TRX) for U.S. customers by the end of the year. After Dec. 31, U.S. users will no longer be able to open new positions in the tokens nor stake ADA and TRX. Cryptocurrency investment platform eToro has committed $1 million to the GoodDollar universal basic income protocol, supporting the nonprofit’s effort to bridge the global wealth gap through DeFi and smart contract technology. Crypto soars to account for 73% of trading commissions on eToro in Q2
Crypto grew to represent 73% of trading commissions on popular retail trading app eToro in the second quarter. eToro announced its Q2 results on Aug. 25, with the firm posting $362 million worth of total trading commissions and reporting its assets under administration had reached $9.4 billion.
