Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has confirmed it is “not planning any layoffs” and is trying to fill another 500 roles by the end of June, according to a Binance spokesperson. The comments came despite a huge spike in crypto layoffs in January — the majority of whom were from crypto exchanges. Huobi crypto exchange aims to expand to Hong Kong amid regulatory changes
Cryptocurrency exchange Huobi Global is seeking a license in Hong Kong, as the Chinese special administrative region considers new licensing and regulatory moves that would allow them to serve retail customers. Binance and Huobi freeze $1.4M in crypto linked to North Korean hackers
Cryptocurrency exchanges Binance and Huobi have again frozen accounts linked to the $100 million Harmony Horizon bridge attack on Jun. 24, 2022. Around $1.4 million worth of crypto frozen by the trading platforms came from accounts linked to the notorious Lazarus Group operating out of North Korea. Huobi Cloud Wallet no more: Exchange pulls plug on DeFi multi-token wallet
Cryptocurrency exchange Huobi has announced that it will discontinue its Huobi Cloud Wallet platform in May 2023 citing ‘strategic and product adjustments’. As per an announcement on Huobi’s support page, maintenance and upgrades of the multi-token wallet service will officially stop on Feb. 13. Users that are still using the Cloud Wallet are being encouraged to transfer cryptocurrency and nonfungible tokens (NFTs) to their main Huobi accounts or other wallet addresses. In January, the brother of a former Coinbase product manager was sentenced to 10 months in prison for wire fraud conspiracy in what prosecutors called the first case of insider trading involving cryptocurrencies. Huobi Korea seeks to split from parent company, change its name: Report
Local media reported Jan. 9 that cryptocurrency exchange Huobi Korea is preparing to purchase its shares from Huobi Global and change its name. About 72% of shares in Huobi Korea are owned by Huobi Global cofounder Leon Li. Huobi Korean chairman Cho Kook-bong would take over Li’s share in the Korean company.
