Bitcoin’s in a bear market, but there are plenty of good reasons to keep investing
Let's rewind the tape to the end of 2021 when Bitcoin (BTC) was trading near $47,000, which at the time was 32% lower than the all-time high. During that time, the tech-heavy Nasdaq stock market index held 15,650 points, just 3% below its highest ever mark. Comparing the Nasdaq's 75% gain between 2021 and 2022 to Bitcoin's 544% positive move, one could assume that an eventual correction caused by macroeconomic tensions or a major crisis, would lead to Bitcoin’s price being disproportionately impacted than stocks. Eventually, these “macroeconomic tensions and crises” did occur and Bitcoin price plunging another 57% to …

$29K Bitcoin is closer than you might expect, according to derivatives data
Bitcoin (BTC) price continues to battle at the $24,000 resistance and the price rejected there on Aug. 10, but the rejection was not enough to knock the price out of the 52-day-long ascending channel. The channel has a $22,500 support and this bullish formation suggests that BTC price will eventually hit the $29,000 level by early October. Bitcoin derivatives data does show a lack of interest from leveraged longs (bulls), but at the same time, it does not price higher odds of a surprise crash. Curiously, the most recent Bitcoin downturn on Aug. 9 was accompanied by a negative performance …

Nvidia shares plunge after Q1 figures, crypto mining card revenue ‘nominal’
American graphics card manufacturer Nvidia’s stock price tumbled in after-hours trading on Thursday because the revenue outlook for Q2 has fallen short of expectations. Quarterly growth from Q4 2021 to Q1 2022 was strong, with an 8% increase in revenue to $8.98 billion and a 3% increase in earnings per share to $1.36. It also stated it would continue a $15 billion share buyback program through the end of 2023, according to the filing to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Graphics processing units (GPUs) have become a little cheaper in July amid a continued downtrend in the price of Ether (ETH). According to a review by TechSpot, GPU prices across popular graphics cards are slightly lower in July than they were in June. The lower prices in July are a continuation of the steady decline in GPU prices since the onset of the current crypto market downturn. Indeed, with ETH tanking from over $4,000 in May to below $2,000, mining profitability has also tapered significantly. According to data from BitInfoCharts, Ether mining profitability is down about 80% from its May …

Amid the ongoing crackdown on cryptocurrency mining in China, prices of graphic cards from major GPU providers like Nvidia and Asus are becoming more affordable. According to a Monday report by South China Morning Post (SCMP), prices of some graphic cards have tumbled as much as two-thirds on Chinese e-commerce platforms after Sichuan province terminated mining operations. Asus’ flagship RTX 3060 card was reportedly down to 4,699 Chinese yuan ($730) on Monday from its peak price of 13,499 yuan ($2,100) in May on JD.com-operated online retail site Tmall.
