Synthetix looks to turn off the SNX money printer once and for all
The founder of decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Synthetix, Kain Warwick, has submitted a proposal that would turn off very high yield returns for SNX stakers and cap the total SNX token supply at 300 million. The Synthetix protocol allows traders to issue synthetic versions of crypto native assets, traditional financial assets, and commodities on the Ethereum and Optimism networks. In an Aug. 25 Synthetix Improvement Proposal (SIP) Warwick explained that SNX reward inflation was initially intended to “bootstrap the network”, however, he believes it’s no longer necessary as they can generate sustainable fee yields from atomic swaps. monthly trading volume …

What is CeDeFi, and why does it matter?
What are the disadvantages of CeDeFi? Currently, CeDeFi’s main downside is the high learning curve associated with its protocols because of their complexity. The concept is still young, and more intuitive and user-friendly interfaces are bound to emerge over time. CeDeFi also relies heavily on Ethereum, given that most CeDeFi protocols are still built on the Ethereum blockchain. If Ethereum fails, CeDeFi will likely fail as well. However, this risk is mitigated by the fact that other blockchains are beginning to adopt CeDeFi protocols. Another disadvantage of CeDeFi is that it’s still relatively new and unproven. While the sector has …

DeFi’s downturn deepens, but protocols with revenue and fee sharing could thrive
At the moment, liquidity is hard to come by, but crypto traders and protocols still need inflow and revenue to remain functional. As the crypto winter drags on, savvy crypto investors have realized that one of the reliable sources of passive income that still exists can be found on protocols that generate revenue and share some of it with their respective communities. Platforms that earn real yield through useage fees are the obvious winner in the bear market, That mean perpetuals and options as they are profitable bear or bull. Thats why #GMX is hot, #snx fees up massively and …

DeFi Summer 3.0? Uniswap overtakes Ethereum on fees, DeFi outperforms
Decentralized exchange (DEX) Uniswap has overtaken its host blockchain Ethereum in terms of fees paid over a seven-day rolling average. The surge appears part of a recent spate of high demand for DeFi amid the current bear market. Decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms such as Aave and Synthetix have seen surges in fees paid over the past seven days, while their native tokens and others such as Compound (COMP) have also boomed in price. According to data from Crypto Fees, traders on Uniswap accounted for an average daily total of $4.87 million worth of fees between June 15 and June 21, …

Synthetix racks up over $1M in daily fees as SNX token value surges 100%
Layer-2 scaling solution Synthetix recently collaborated with liquidity provider Curve Finance to create Curve pools for Synthetic Ether (sETH)/Ether (ETH), Synthetic Bitcoin (sBTC)/Bitcoin (BTC) and Synthetic U.S. dollar (sUSD)/3CRV, allowing investors to cheaply convert synths such as sETH to ETH. Given the investors’ willingness to hold tokens instead of synths, the protocol racked up over $1.02 million in trading fees — overshadowing Bitcoin’s (BTC) daily performance by five times. Synthetix, Ethereum-based decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol, created a buzz across the crypto ecosystem after witnessing a sudden increase in trading activities and an unprecedented comeback of its in-house token, SNX, during …

Synthetix (SNX) rallies in anticipation of L2 Curve Wars and Optimism airdrop announcement
Layer-2 (L2) solutions for the Ethereum (ETH) network have grown in prominence over the last year because of the need for scalable networks that offer low-fee transactions and led to numerous projects that built cross-chain bridges with competing blockchain networks. One project that has benefitted from the growth of the L2 scaling solutions is Synthetix (SNX), a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol that enables the creation of synthetic assets and offers exposure to derivatives and futures trading on the blockchain. Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView shows that since hitting a low of $4.44 on April 11, the price of …

Sushi and Synthetix get the boot in Grayscale DeFi fund rebalancing
Digital asset management firm Grayscale, has added three new cryptocurrency assets across three main investment funds, while removing two other assets from its Decentralized Finance Fund as part of this year’s first quarterly rebalance. Grayscale removed tokens from crypto-derivatives decentralized exchange Synthetix (SNX), and decentralized exchange SushiSwap (SUSHI), from its DeFi fund after the two crypto assets failed to meet the required minimum market capitalization. No other cryptocurrencies were removed during the rebalancing. Grayscale’s DeFi fund, which was launched in July last year, currently holds approximately $8 million in assets. The digital assets remaining in the DeFi fund after the …

Synthetix commence debt pool merger to enhance liquidity and staking capabilities
Decentralized finance, or DeFi, protocol Synthetix (SNX) has announced that the deployment of their Debt Pool Synthesis feature will occur on Thursday 9pm through 11pm UTC, expected to impact staking participants in two distinctive categories: SNX inflationary staking rewards and Debt Hedging. Currently, Synthetix operates debt pools across two chains, Ethereum mainnet and layer 2 Ethereum scaling solution Optimism, which have amassed an accumulative total-value-locked of $930 million and $157 million, respectively. The company have stated their intention to transition into an "Optimism-native protocol", with one of their council members kain.eth advocating this route by stating the vast growth potential …
