The Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia in the United States is moving forward on a lawsuit against business intelligence firm MicroStrategy executive chair Michael Saylor related to tax evasion. According to a Feb. 28 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, MicroStrategy said the court had not dismissed a claim against Saylor for failing “to pay personal income taxes, interest and penalties due” following an October 2022 motion from the firm. Bitcoin-friendly Cash App integrates TaxBit amid tax-filing season
Mobile payments processor Cash App has integrated crypto tax and accounting software TaxBit into its services, giving Bitcoin (BTC) holders a more streamlined approach to reporting their taxes. As of Feb. 28, Cash App users can now keep track of their Bitcoin transactions for tax reporting purposes using TaxBit, both companies announced. Brazil’s oldest bank allows residents to pay off tax bill with crypto
Brazilian bank Banco do Brasil is offering a new and convenient option for taxpayers to settle their dues using cryptocurrencies. According to a statement published by Banco do Brasil on Feb. 11 it is now “possible” for Brazilian taxpayers to pay their tax bill with crypto, in a joint initiative with Brazilian-based crypto firm Bitfy.
