Celo network back online after almost 24-hour outage
Proof-of-stake- (PoS)-based blockchain Celo has been suffering from an on-and-off network outage lasting 24 hours, though the blockchain appears to be up and running again. Celo is an open-source blockchain that enables users with phone numbers to make payments with crypto by using their phone numbers as a proxy for public keys. Cardano’s Vasil hard fork proposal submitted: Countdown commences
Cardano Blockchain developer Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK) has submitted an updated proposal to hard fork the Cardano testnet, kicking off the countdown for the network’s Vasil mainnet upgrade. Bitcoin Lightning Network developer updates node software with Taproot support
Lightning Labs, a developer of the Bitcoin (BTC) Lightning Network (LN), released a beta version of the Lightning Network Daemon (lnd) — a complete implementation of the LN node — with added support to the latest protocol upgrades including Taproot and Musig2, among other improvements. lnd is a software component that handles various aspects within the LN including managing a database, generating payment invoices and revoking payments, to name a few. Solana network faces degraded performance for the second time this week
The Solana blockchain has faced its second network performance degradation incident this week. According to Solana, this is happening because of a rise in high compute transactions. As a result, the network capacity which was originally advertised to be 50,000 transactions per second (TPS) was reduced to several thousand TPS. Decentralized automated market maker (AMM) Bancor is set to launch new staking pools and an upgrade to its impermanent loss protection mechanism as part of its long-awaited Bancor 3 update. First announced in September, Monero developers today went live with a network update featuring a new version of its node software, codenamed 'Oxygen Orion.'
