Jeff Garzik’s DeFi protocol Vesper Finance tops $1B TVL in six weeks
Vesper Finance, a recently launched DeFI yield suite co-founded by former Bitcoin core developer Jeff Garzik, has surpassed a TVL of $1 billion within six weeks of launching on mainnet. Garzik, also an executive of blockchain technology firm Bloq Inc, tweeted the news on March 23 while also revealing the team had open-sourced its smart contracts. Ethereum Classic Devs Building a ‘Chainhopping’ Bridge Between ETH and ETC
San Francisco-based incubator for the blockchain Ethereum Classic (ETC), ETC Labs, has announced that it will create a solution for Ethereum (ETH)/ETC interoperability in a collaboration with Metronome, in an official blog post on June 27. Per the announcement, blockchain interoperability—also referred to as “chainhopping”—is a property of a blockchain asset meaning that it can be transferred between separate blockchains. In this case, the cryptocurrency Metronome (MET) will be transferable between the ETH and ETC blockchains. Jeff Garzik on Instant Confirmations: ‘Hope is the Denial of Reality’
Amid a spate of services promising instantaneous confirmation of Bitcoin transactions, core develop Jeff Garzik has spoken out against the concept, calling them “by definition not secure.” Garzik made the comments while reiterating his stance on Peter Todd’s replace-by-fee protocol for the blockchain.
